Problem Statement Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a frequent and severe complication of diabetes mellitus, leading to infection, amputation, and death. Despite its high burden, the short-term hospital outcomes of DFU patients are poorly documented in Northern Sudan. Justification Evaluating hospital outcomes and identifying predictors of poor prognosis among DFU patients will inform better inpatient care, resource planning, and prevention strategies. General Objective To assess hospital outcomes and their predictors among patients admitted with diabetic foot ulcers at Dongola Specialized Hospital. Specific Objectives 1. To determine the proportion of DFU patients who underwent amputation or died during hospitalization. 2. To assess the average length of hospital stay among DFU patients. 3. To identify clinical and laboratory predictors of poor outcomes. Methodology • Study Design: Retrospective cross-sectional study. • Study Area: Dongola Specialized Hospital. • Study Population: All diabetic patients admitted with foot ulcers • Sample Size: All eligible cases within the study period. • Data Collection: Data extraction from patient records using a structured checklist. • Data Analysis: SPSS will be used; descriptive and multivariate analysis to identify outcome predictors. • Ethical Considerations: Ethical approval and data confidentiality will be ensured.
