9. وصف مختصر للبحث
Brief Description of Research
Background The OSCE is a standardized clinical assessment tool used globally in medical education. While considered reliable and objective, it frequently triggers significant anxiety among medical students, potentially impairing their performance, communication skills, and psychological well-being. Fifth- and sixth-year medical students are particularly vulnerable due to high academic demands and repeated clinical assessments. Research Problem Despite international research documenting OSCE-related anxiety, there is limited data on this issue among medical students in Sudan, specifically at the University of Dongola. This knowledge gap hinders the development of targeted interventions to support students' mental health and academic success. Objectives · Determine the prevalence of OSCE-related anxiety · Identify contributing factors (fear of failure, time pressure, examiner behavior, preparation level) · Assess the relationship between anxiety and academic year · Evaluate anxiety's impact on examination performance · Provide recommendations for reducing anxiety Methodology · Design: Descriptive cross-sectional study · Population: 330 fifth- and sixth-year medical students · Sample Size: 181 students (calculated using Slovin's formula) · Sampling: Stratified random sampling · Data Collection: Self-administered structured questionnaire · Analysis: SPSS version 31; Chi-square tests, independent t-tests, logistic regression
