This community-based cross-sectional study aims to determine the prevalence of hypertension and its associated sociodemographic, lifestyle, and clinical factors among adults aged 18 years and above in Jertoude Village, Dongola Locality, Northern State, Sudan. The study will also estimate the proportion of previously undiagnosed hypertension and the proportion of affected individuals receiving antihypertensive treatment. Data will be collected using an interviewer-administered questionnaire adapted from the WHO STEPS instrument, along with blood pressure and anthropometric measurements. Data will be analyzed using SPSS, with descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and binary logistic regression. The expected outcomes are to provide local estimates of hypertension prevalence, identify associated factors, and determine the burden of undiagnosed and untreated hypertension. The findings may help inform community screening, improve awareness, and support future planning of hypertension prevention and management services.
