Title: Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Antibiotic Use and Misuse among Residents of Dongola City, Northern State, Sudan, 2026 Antibiotics are important medicines used to treat bacterial infections. However, their misuse, such as taking them without a prescription or using them to treat viral infections, can contribute to antimicrobial resistance. Antibiotic misuse is an important public health problem in Sudan. This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding antibiotic use and misuse among adult residents of Dongola City. It also aims to identify factors associated with antibiotic self-medication. A descriptive, community-based, cross-sectional study will be conducted among 422 adults aged 18 years and above. Data will be collected through face-to-face interviews using a structured Arabic questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The findings are expected to help identify gaps in public knowledge and support health education programs to promote the rational use of antibiotics and reduce their misuse in Dongola City.
