This is a hospital-based cross-sectional study to be conducted at Aldabbah Hospital, Northern State, Sudan, during the year 2026. The study aims to evaluate platelet parameters among pregnant women attending the antenatal clinic at Aldabbah Hospital. The study will assess platelet count and related platelet indices, including mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), and plateletcrit (PCT), using routine complete blood count (CBC) analysis. Venous blood samples will be collected as part of standard laboratory investigations, with no additional invasive procedures required. Participation in the study will be voluntary. All eligible participants will receive a clear explanation of the study objectives and procedures, and written informed consent will be obtained prior to enrollment. Participants will have the right to withdraw from the study at any time without any effect on the quality of medical care provided. The study involves minimal risk to participants, limited to mild discomfort associated with routine blood sampling. Confidentiality and privacy will be strictly maintained by coding participant data and restricting access to research records to the research team only. All data will be used solely for scientific research purposes. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to improved understanding of platelet changes during pregnancy and support better maternal healthcare practices within the local healthcare system.
